Announcement Armenia Microgrant Competition

The International Science and Technology Center is pleased to announce a new microgrant program and invite you to apply for this funding opportunity.  Grant application topics should focus on the potential for small modular reactors (SMRs) to contribute to meeting Armenia’s future energy needs.  Relevant topics could include nuclear safety, nuclear security, and/or nonproliferation considerations relevant to SMRs; regulatory development and licensing considerations concerning SMRs; workforce development and educational activities associated with SMRs; the role of SMRs in Armenia’s clean energy mix; or activities associated with SMR technology assessment and selection.  Other topics of interest could include site characterization and risk mitigation in the implementation and deployment of SMRs.  This opportunity seeks to fund workshops proposed by and conducted with Armenian participants, publications for Armenian audiences, educational opportunities involving Armenian university students, or research projects related to the above topics.

 

A total of 3-6 grants will be awarded, each in an amount of up to $10,000 USD.  The duration of each grant would last for approximately six months. All applications received by the deadline will be ranked using performance criteria established by a committee of ISTC Member State SAC representatives.
